Remove Moisture From The Tanks

You might notice that there is a little bit of moisture that builds up in the tank of your compressor after each use. You will want to remove the build up of moisture from within the tank. Wipe the tank down with a rag after emptying it so that it is left completely dry. This is to help prevent the development of rust and additional wear on the air compressor parts.

Keep An Eye On The Fasteners

Over time, as the air compressor vibrates, the fasteners can start to come loose from the machine. If they fall out, the air compressor may no longer work or work as well. It is also likely that you would not be able to fin the fasteners as they rolled onto the floor and may have been kicked around by accident. Therefore, once a week or more often if the air compressor is used daily, you will want to check the fasteners. Make sure that they are nice and tight without accidentally stripping them.

Check The Oil Level

It is important to make sure that your air compressor has enough oil in it according to the guidelines found in the owners manual that came with it. Also, just as a vehicle needs to have its oil changed after so may miles, an air compressor will need to have its oil changed after so many hours of use. The exact number of hours your compressor can go without an oil change will depend on the manufacturers guidelines, so you will want to check the owners manual for further details.

Double Check To Make Sure That The Hoses Are Connected

In order for the air compressor to function properly, you are going to want to make sure that the hoses are connected. Since the vibration of the air compressor can cause some hoses to disconnect from the machine, it it best to make it a point to check them every week. If you use the air compressor every day, you might want to make checking the hoses a habit every day before using the compressor.
